A Living Room on Fore Street
Have you seen the recently refurbished Fore Street ‘Living Room Library’? The space has been designed by architecture practice Jan Kattein and fabricated by Building Bloqs as part of The Mayor of London's Good Growth Fund that allocated £1.1 million to regenerating Angel Edmonton area.
The innovative design allows for hybridity, with moveable bookshelves and curtains so the space can be opened up for a host of activities such as performances, training, talks, youth facilities, business support and co-working. This new civic offering will hopefully improve how the library functions and allow us to come together as communities on the high street.
Our favourite area is the imaginative a children’s section with elevated reading nooks, bringing to life the magic of reading.
Catch our programming each first Thursday of the month from 6pm.
What do you think of the space? Will you use it more? What do you hope to see at the library?
